SIX Port Shepstone High athletes were placed first in their events at the Menlopark Athletics Trials held at Treverton College recently.
Alu Mbewana won the U16 long jump event and set a new record of 13.20m when he won the U16 triple jump. Mlungisi Mabaso set a new school record and placed first in the U14 long jump event. Raine Redinger won the U19 100m and 200m events, Caitlyn Schlehmeyer won the U15 1 500m and the U19 3 000m events, Njabulo Cele won the U19 3 000m and Che Habib won the U14 800m event.
Junior Sheppie High mathematics whizz pupils Ashmi Lautan, Samkelisiwe Mzobe and Lona Ndala were the proud joint winners of the recent PSHS junior maths quiz and each received a R500 Game gift voucher, sponsored by the Epoch and Optima Trusts.
