SOUTHCITY Christian Schools hosted the Banana Bash Triathlon, the first of what will become an annual family fun day, last Saturday.
A huge vote of thanks goes to the main sponsors, Panarotti’s, as well as to Nashua for the very welcome water table and all the other sponsors, who assisted and contributed to making it such a successful day.

The course, which ran through local farms in the area, was extremely well-marked, challenging and with the recent rains, quite wet in certain areas, thereby allowing for a lot of fun, thrills and spills!
The winners of the main event, a 600 m swim, 20 km off-road cycle and a 5 kilometre trail run, were popular local cyclist, Darryn Purtell and 14 year-old Megan Bircher. Full results of the ‘half’ and the ‘banana split’ can be found on Facebook.
