PORT Shepstone High held its gr 11 challenge week recently. The programme is designed to help pupils face certain truths about themselves and their behaviour and how it impacts upon others. Pupils were challenged to make a change through a series of activities and encouraged to be the change they would like to see at the school.
The programme is further aimed at making pupils realise there are many others with similar or worse problems to the ones they face. This understanding not only helps them deal with situations in a more constructive manner, but also encourages reaching out for help and helping others. Pupils are taught how to eradicate separation, isolation, loneliness and all forms of violence at school, starting in their individual classes.
