IZOTSHA Primary’s gr 7 pupils recently attended their annual excursion at Sweetdale Camp. A fun-filled, adventurous time was had by all whilst experiential learning took place in various activities. Teamwork and leadership skills were taught in an outdoor environment and many were able to overcome their fear of heights through abseiling, zip-lining and high-rope courses.
The school is extremely proud of Rachel Upfold who represented Izotsha in the KZN team and achieved outstanding results at the SANESA (South African National Equestrian Schools Association) national championships held at Misty Meadows in Pretoria during the holidays. Rachel won her showing class on her fabulous pony Little Miss Muppet. In addition, she achieved tenth place overall in dressage and a KZN team fourth place in equitation. Conditions at Misty Meadow were tough as the show, in which nine teams took part, was held during a heatwave.
