Gun, cartridges don’t match

Court hears accused was only driving the car from which the fatal shots were fired.

THE man accused of killing HCM official and taxi owner Mlungisi Boro Ngcobo appeared again in Port Shepstone Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday).

Nkosentsha Ngwabe of St Faith’s first applied for bail last Friday.

The investigating officer, Nkosinathi Mandonsela, testified that Ngwabe was not linked to the actual shooting, but was the driver of the vehicle from which shots were fired.

In his statement read by his lawyer, he said that he was in Scottburgh when he was arrested.

He said he lived in Mobeni Heights with his fiance and had four children.

The court heard that ballistics showed that a gun found on Ngwabe did not match the cartridges found at the scene.

The bail hearing will continue tomorrow (Friday).
