PSJP had a visit from a very inspirational nine-year old boy named Aphiwe Gcaba. Aphiwe was born blind and has been living at Rehoboth Children’s Village since infancy. He demonstrated all his amazing skills, like how to use a braille machine and how to navigate with a stick. Aphiwe also sang a song for gr 3 pupils.
The school choir, ably led by pianist Noel Roos and conductor Rhoda Surajpersadh, took part in the annual Voices for Hospice event held at the Norwegian Settlers’ Church.
Two Department of Health and Environmental Affairs representatives addressed the school assembly about the importance of washing hands and emphasised that during the washing process, taps must be turned off to save our precious water resource.
Congratulations to gr 3 pupils Zoë Houston, Leethon Hess, Busisiwe Nxumalo, Mia Naidoo, Siphokazi Khubisa, Tyler Olivier, Asiphe Mtshali, Esihle Nzama, Vidant Bugwandeen, Unathi Nkomo, Ameera Adam, Kabelo Makhanya, Enhle Mntungwa, Mishen Anwanth, Ahlaam Moosa, Lethukthula Cikwayo, Thobeka Nyawose, Jason Chiya, Akhona Chiliza, Ayanda Madlala, Annaleen Williams, Malwande Mahlawe, Abongile Gwacela, Malibongwe Zulu, Jade Clifton and Dylan Dalton who have shown enough sensibility and responsibility to be selected as school monitors.
