WELL done to Southcity swimmers who won the schools’ trophy at the Lake Eland Mile event. April Niemack, Tamara Venter and Sarah-Joy Pringle came second overall in the team swim. Leah Scott (gr 1) was the youngest entrant.
Southcity cricketers played against Creston last Thursday at Southcity. The first team scored 55 (Ashton Chapman 31) for 3 in 8.1 overs, winning the game by seven wickets. What a great way to finish the season! The U15 team won its match by 8 wickets.
Last Friday, gr 4 classes celebrated ‘French Day’ and were tasked with preparing and presenting dishes unique to France. Colourful outfits were modelled around the French flag and pupils worked hard to complete a project in celebration of ‘Bastille Day’. They shared delicious dishes and Coca Cola (which is the French soft drink of choice) and will follow this experience up with an English oral on the French.
