Sheppie ablution facilities handed over

Maintenance is now in the hands of the informal traders.

HIBISCUS Coast Municipality recently handed ablution facilities over to the care of informal traders at Port Shepstone’s Chris Hani Square and Port Shepstone taxi rank.

The municipality has a one-year memorandum of understanding contract with the informal traders to maintain the facilities, with the municipality playing an oversight role.

The decision to have these facilities handed over to informal traders came after the municipality had struggled to maintain the facilities, due to overcrowding at the taxi rank.

Council took a decision in October to have the facilities taken care of by the informal traders themselves.
