Photographer robbed while working on beach

Two men insulted the photographer before making off with his camera.

A PHOTOGRAPHER from Gcilima near Southbroom was robbed while working on Margate beach last Wednesday.

According to police reports the man was taking photos of people at the beach. “Two men came up to him and wanted a photo taken,” said police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka.

“The photographer took the photos and printed them. The customers did not like the printed photos and said they wouldn’t pay for them. They insulted the man, pushed him to the ground and fled with his camera,” said Capt Mfeka.

The registration number of the vehicle in which the men drove away was taken down and handed to police. Margate police are investigating and are expected to make an arrest soon.
