Margate clothing store robbed at gunpoint
Business owners should take note of suspicious people who linger around, especially when businesses are about to close.
STAFF at a clothing store in Marine Drive, Margate, were held up last Saturday.
Three armed men entered the store just before closing time, pretending to be customers. They held the manager at gunpoint and demanded safe keys and cellphones.
“The men fled with a substantial sum of money as well as two cellphones,” said police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka.
No one was injured.
“It is important that business owners be alert. Take note of suspicious people who linger around, especially when businesses are about to close, or early in the morning when opening,” said Captain Mfeka.
