Security company thwarts robbers

TWO suspected burglars are behind bars, thanks to the rapid response of a private security company.

It appears that burglars accessed a home in Uvongo via the roof, after removing some of the roof tiles. A trapdoor was then removed to provide access to the rest of the house.

“While the intruders were in the process of gathering belongings from the house, the client’s security alarm was triggered. Armed response officer Lukas Strecker responded to the alarm,” said ADT Security’s District Manager for KwaZulu-Natal, Ivan Govender.

Officer Strecker arrived at the house within minutes, and apprehended two suspects who he found in the house. The suspects were handed over to the Margate SAPS.
