A tidy environment means a tidy mind
Now is a great time to declutter and organise your child's room.
ARE you constantly tripping over books, clothes and toys in your child’s room?
When you ask them to clean their room, does everything get shoved under the bed? If the answer is yes then it’s time to attack the clutter and get their room in order.
Throw out or donate old toys and clothing that your children have outgrown.
If you want to teach them to be more organised and tidy then you must provide them with the means to do so.
Here are some storage ideas that will help a child keep their room neat.
- Clear plastic containers, clearly labelled, are perfect for things like puzzles, comic books and toys.
- If you have an old bookshelf, get the children involved and let them paint it and then store their books.
- Painted recycled tins are perfect for storing paint brushes and crayons.
- Cover old shoe boxes with fabric to store glue, paper, scissors, play-dough, etc.
- An old dish rack is great for storing colouring books as well as pencils and markers within reach.
- Use an old baking sheet as a magnetic board, paint in a nice bright colour and put up on the wall.
- A see through fishing box is super for the budding artist in the family to hold all their craft supplies.
These are just a few ideas. Look around the house for your own storage containers.
Now let the children get creative and use their imagination to help organise their own rooms.
