THE two people who died in yesterday’s collision involving a truck and a motorbike have been identified.
Xander Steinberg (23) and his fiance Angilique Janse van Rensburg (21) were believed to have been travelling from Shelly Beach to Margate when the tragedy occurred.
Xander and Angilique were apparently engaged and the wedding was planned for this year. A family member told the Herald that the young couple had visited Xander’s mom in Shelly Beach and had waited for the rain to clear before travelling back to Margate.
Police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka said Margate police are investigating a culpable homicide case. “The cause of the accident is still to be investigated,” he said.
