Walk on Mzamba beach, where whales and fossils meet
Walkers will meet at the Wild Coast Sun Waterworld parking area for the 5km return walk to the caves.
The Umtamvuna Marine Conservancy, in collaboration with Ezemvelo Honorary Officer Debbie King, will host its second fundraising walk to Mzamba Beach this Saturday (4th).

Walkers will meet at the Wild Coast Sun Waterworld parking area for the 5km return walk to the caves. The event offers an opportunity to explore rock pools, collect shells and discover fossilised trees and 85-million-year-old seashell fossils dating back to the Cretaceous period.
Debbie will share her knowledge of the area’s marine life, geology and biodiversity during the guided walk. This time of year also offers the chance to spot dolphins, whales and seabirds feeding on sardines.

Walkers are advised to wear suitable shoes and a hat, and to bring snacks and water.
Funds raised will support the conservancy’s biodiversity and environmental projects in the Umtamvuna area.
For Debbie, the beach continues to reveal new natural treasures, even after 25 years of exploring the area.
