Man arrested with stolen property
The man was unable to give a reasonable account of how he came to be in possession of the property.
A MAN (33) has appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court charged with being in possession of suspected stolen property.
Warrant Officer Siphiwe Joshua Shusha of the Port Shepstone SAPS was travelling through Shelly Beach at 2am last Saturday, when he saw a man pushing a trolley near the intersection of Jacaranda and Robin Roads.
He stopped to investigate and found that the trolley contained newly broken aluminium pieces and a steel contraption that looked like it was part of a refuse bag holder often found outside residences.
“Steve Ramboloa, who is believed to be from Gauteng and now staying in a local informal settlement, was unable to give a reasonable account of how he came to be in possession of the property,” said police spokesman, Captain Vincent Pandarum.
He was arrested and detained.
Warrant Officer Shusha appeals to anyone who may have had property fitting this description stolen to contact the exhibits clerk at the Port Shepstone SAPS at 039 688 1000. The property may have been stolen anywhere between Uvongo and Shelly Beach.
The case was postponed to February 26.
