HIBBERDENE Academy had a very full week last week. Last Friday was particularly busy with ‘plant a flower day’ and teachers and pupils were invited to bring plants, flowers or seeds for planting and enhancing the school grounds. Many happy pupils arrived in civvies, carrying plants and seedlings for the event. The first lesson was devoted to digging and planting and a great deal of fun was had, albeit in the sweltering heat. Both pupils and plants were well watered!
Last Friday also saw three senior girls attend the international ‘Women’s World Day of Prayer’. This year, Cuba was the chosen country of prayer and the enchanting service was held at the Methodist Church. The girls were welcomed to the service by warmhearted churchwomen and head girl Kiara Crocker, prefect Skye Labuschagne and gr 10 pupil Buhle Biyase were delighted to be invited to this special service.
