MERLEWOOD Primary was honoured with a visit by mayor Cynthia Mqwebu, Selvan Chetty from the ANC activist forum and human rights centre and circuit manager Rajan Naidoo. The mayor was on an oversight visit to schools and visited Merlewood Primary to offer assistance in the preparation of building a whole new school. She invited management members and the SGB to share concerns and possible challenges they foresee with regards to the new building, promising to assist wherever she can.
Congratulations to Sthabile Kheswa for winning gold at both the district and provincial athletics competitions held at the Marburg Sports Complex and Chatsworth Stadium respectively. Sthabile received gold medals for the U12 100m event and will now take part at national level in Bloemfontein. Well done to all volleyball teams which entered the recent schools’ volleyball tournament held at the Marburg Sports Complex.
