ORIGINAL STORY:

THE two men, one a supposed friend of the victim, who are accused of beheading Umzinto cricketer Nawaaz Khan for the purposes of a muti ritual, briefly appeared in the Umzinto Magistrate’s Court last Thursday.

Following Thandowakhe Thando Duma and Elias ‘Maak ’n Plan’ Sihle Mchunu’s brief appearance, both were remanded back to Westville Prison and the matter referred to the District Prosecutor for a decision.

Both are set to appear in the Umzinto Magistrate’s Court on February 4.

Mchunu gave a full confession to the SAPS last year, admitting that he had beheaded Khan as per the request of a traditional healer, who had instructed him to bring him a human head in order for the ritual to be conducted.

Mchunu was also charged with kidnapping in a separate case.
