FOR the first time in Southcity history, Denita-Sue Pieterse was awarded swimming honours for the third consecutive year, which is an outstanding achievement. Britney Pieterse met the criteria for two strokes and was awarded honours for swimming. Jeandré Michau received new honours for swimming, once again making history at the school being the first pupil awarded honours for three strokes. The rugby team also made history last Saturday. It was the first time the team played against Sheppie High’s first team and Southcity won 21-16. Unfortunately the U14/U15 mixed team lost its game. At the netball match against PSHS last Friday, the U14 team won 12-11, the U16 lost 12-13 and the first team lost 13-27. The girls’ U14 hockey team played Gelofte last Saturday and won 2-0, the U16 team lost 1-2 and the first team won 3-0. Southcity won two and lost two netball games against Kingsway last Saturday.
