WOODGRANGE-on-Sea Primary held its annual athletics day last Thursday. The atmosphere was electric with sounds of drums and war cries and the day was filled with excitement, competitive athletes and beautifully dressed mascots. Teachers also joined in the fun and competed in the egg-and-spoon race, where Famida Khan proved her worth and secured first position.
Congratulations to Spartan house for finally being victorious against Olympian for the first time in four years. The camaraderie and sportsmanship among all athletes was phenomenal. Winners and losers all united at the end of the day to enjoy food hampers.
Sports master Mthokosizi Myende expressed his sincere gratitude to ‘faithful starter’ Sweady Chetty and to line judges Handsome Shebi, Freedom Shebi and Fortunate Mthumu for honouring the school’s sports day with their presence, as well as for all the support afforded to Woodgrange Primary.
