Southcity first teams conquer

Everyone really enjoyed just being a part of the exciting winter sports festival.

IN SOME very exciting matches, Southcity’s first teams beat Creston College last week. The rugby team won 10–8 and the U15 team drew 12-12. The netball team won 35–10 and the U14 team won 12-2. The boys’ hockey team won 2-1, and the U14/U16 mixed boys drew 1-1. The girls’ hockey team lost 0-1, the U16 team lost 0-2 and the U14s won 2-1.

Last Saturday the school hosted a winter sports festival where Crawford North Coast, Umhlanga College, Toti High and the SKZN development rugby team took part. Altogether 350 pupils comprising U14, U16 and first teams competed.

As part of a community outreach project and in support of the Lower South Coast SPCA, Junior Primary pupils generously donated pet food and second-hand items for sale at the SPCA charity shops. Pupils were entertained by a gorgeous husky puppet who taught them about caring for their pets.
