PS Secondary claims volleyball trophy again

The three-setter was hotly contested with some thunderous spiking from Amir 'The Beast' Dhanpath and colossal blocking by Camden Chengadu.

VARIOUS teams represented Port Shepstone Secondary at the second schools’ volleyball tournament held at the Marburg Sports Complex last Saturday. The star team of the day was undoubtedly the boys’ U16 A team which demolished its opposition in the round robin matches to qualify for the final. The A team took on the B team (defending champions from the first tournament) and wrestled back the title of best U16 boys’ team in the circuit.

The over 16 boys’ A team cruised through first round matches to secure a place in the final against giants KwaFica High. The three-setter was hotly contested, with some thunderous spiking from Amir ‘The Beast’ Dhanpath and colossal blocking by Camden Chengadu. The team narrowly conceded to KwaFica.

Girls’ teams proved stiff competition against old rivals Marburg Secondary and contributed valuable points to ensure that PSSec retained the prestigious title of school volleyball champions.
