MERLEWOOD Primary’s grades 3 to 6 pupils were treated to a ‘planetarium at school’, thanks to the services of African Sky Planetarium. Pupils were in awe as they saw and identified different planets and stars.
The junior primary choir took part in the district choir competition held at Uvongo town hall, which was the choir’s first exposure to competitive singing. Many thanks to Marti van Rooyen, Ntombikhona Phungula and Bonisile Mthembu for priming the choir.
The U12 volleyball teams fared well and gained valuable experience at the competition held at the Marburg Sports Complex recently, thanks to coach Devi Govender, team manager Dolly Pillay and her assistant Alicia Dennis.
The school is extremely proud of all netball, soccer and volleyball teams who took part in last week’s winter sports day at PSSP. Thanks to sports committee members Devi Govender, Beatrice Dzanibe, S’bongile Mzameko, Alicia Dennis, Brizan Small, Thembani Majola, Ntombikhona Phungula, Gumisayi Saidi and S’phephelo Jwara.
