‘Where is your pride, HCM?’

Property owners are begging HCM to tidy up the yard.

THANKS to the shockingly untidy depot in Ocean Drive North, Southport property owners are battling to sell their homes.

And estate agents claim that people are not keen to buy in the area because of the ‘dump yard’.

Now large piles of sand and building material are encroaching nearly one and a half metres into the road.

Many calls to Hibiscus Coast Municipality have gone unattended.

June Myers, chairman of the Bendigo Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association, is at her wits’ end. She has desperately tried to work with officials from the department to get the ‘eyesore’ of a yard cleaned up, but can never get hold of the relevant people.

Mrs Myers is asking the following questions:

1. Why is there a park home inside the depot?

2. Why are private cars parked inside the depot?

3. It is clearly obvious that there is more than enough space to bring sand, etc into the depot if it was properly organised.

4. Why do residents have to be subjected to this mess, it is bringing down the value of their properties?
