MERLEWOOD Primary pupils are serious about saving water. At a recent ‘water competition’ (for SEEP Schools), organised by the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, pupils entered the ‘Creative Poetry’ and the ‘Poster’ categories.
Bathabile Khusi won first place at district level for her poster about sanitation and will now enter the provincial competition to be held in Durban during June.
Sixty grades 5 to 8 pupils entered the Natural Science Olympiad last week. They wrote a three-hour test and results are expected in a few weeks. An impressive number of parents attended the grades 2 and 3 open day last week.
