Accolades for Ugu’s Vuyiwe

Ugu placed as one of the best performers in KZN.

AN Ugu District municipal employee scooped a prize at the annual KwaZulu-Natal Premier’s Awards held at the Durban ICC last Thursday.

Vuyiwe Tsako,  a corporate services general manager, was placed third out of 19 entries in the Public Service Leader of the Year category.

She was presented with a bronze award and a certificate, which she dedicated to her colleagues, who, she said, were always willing to assist.

Ms Tsako (41) said that despite challenges, she was determined to ‘work even harder’.

And at the recent KZN Co-operative Governance Municipal Service Excellence awards, Ugu mayor, Ntombifikile Gumede, received an award for service delivery diligence, having obtained a clean audit for the 2014/15 financial year.

KZN MEC for Cogta, Nomusa Dube-Ncube thanked the mayor for serving the people of the district with dignity, dedication, loyalty and diligence during her term of office.

The accolades accumulated per local municipality have placed Ugu District as one of the best performing districts in the province, according to Cogta.
