LOCAL government elections have come and gone, the results are finally out, here’s the final council seat allocation for municipalities in the Ugu district:

* Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality  (Hibiscus Coast and Ezinqoleni municipality)
ANC = 47 DA = 14 IFP = 5 AIC = 2 EFF = 2 VF+ = 1
Total Seats = 71

* Umuziwabantu municipality
ANC = 14 IFP = 4 DA = 1 EFF = 1
Total Seats = 20

* Umzumbe municipality
ANC = 30 IFP = 6 African People’s = 1 DA = 1 EFF = 1
Total Seats = 39

* Umdoni
ANC = 23 DA = 7 IFP = 3 AIC = 1 Al Jama-H = 1 Allied Movement = 1 EFF = 1
Total Seats = 37
