Aye-aye captain: PSJP pupils (from left) Junior Ngeleka, Sahir Beharie, Esihle Khuzwayo and Olwethu Khuzwayo learnt all about pirates from Captain Buckle Boots (aka gr 3 teacher Phillippa Pretorius) last week.
CAPTAIN Buckle Boots came to visit PSJP to introduce the term’s theme of ‘Pirates’ and to give pupils guidelines on how to conduct an interview. They have been tasked with interviewing their parents and fellow pupils.
An overwhelming response was received from pupils for the 67 minutes for Mandela initiative. They brought a ‘mountain’ of used clothing in excellent condition for handing over to Lorette Millar at St Martin’s Children’s Home in Oribi Gorge. Gr 1 pupil Ashton Nagiah and family also kindly donated hot dogs, cooldrinks, hot chocolate, sugar and milk to the home. HOD Kerry Peyper is thanked for coordinating the collection and distribution.
Gr 3 hockey girls challenged the teachers to a hockey match and a great time was had with teachers almost beating the pupils.
