Sheppie High orators qualify

Pupils got the opportunity to handle some of the items used by police officers on a daily basis.

PORT Shepstone High’s oratory teams competed in the South Coast Debating League recently. Teams represented the school extremely well with the junior and senior B teams qualifying for the finals to be held at Southcity Christian College. Both the junior team and senior B team beat Suid-Natal High and best speaker awards went to Sane Mbhele (junior) and Selunathi Dontsa (senior).

At the soccer match against Scottburgh last week, the girls’ first team won 2-0 and the boys’ first team won 3-1. The school played golf against Scottburgh and Kingsway recently and beat Scottburgh 10-0, but lost to Kingsway.

Last week, the SAPS addressed gr 10 pupils on the ‘tools of the trade’. Warrant Officer Andries van den Berg presented an informative demonstration and offered pupils hands-on experience with some of the items used by police officers on a daily basis.
