PSHS orators talk their way to the top

Soccer teams had a busy week with fixtures against Southcity, DGHS and Hillcrest.

SHEPPIE High’s oratory teams competed in the recent South Coast Debating League finals and emerged victorious. The junior team comprising Kamva Hombile, Sane Mbhele and Sisonke Nomnganga beat Suid-Natal High, and Sane also scooped the ‘Most Improved Debater of the Season’ and ‘Best Speaker of the Season’ titles. Senior team orators Sumaya Habib, Kayley Pandohe and Selunathi Dontsa beat Creston College. Congratulations to Kayley Pandohe who won the ‘Most improved speaker of the season’ award and Selunathi Dontsa for earning the ‘Best speaker of the season’ title.

Last week, soccer teams were extremely busy with fixtures against Southcity, DGHS and Hillcrest. The girls’ first team beat Southcity 2-0, but lost to Hillcrest and DGHS. The boys’ first team beat Southcity 2-1 and drew 1-1 with Hillcrest. The boys’ U16 won 3-2 against Hillcrest.
