A TOTAL of 189 projects were entered into this year’s Eskom Science Expo for young scientists. Thirteen Creston pupils took part and all received medals. Waheed Amanjee, Savannah Haupt, Mohamed Khan and José Gonzalves received special awards. Waheed also won the ‘Best energy project’ award and Alexia Kalamoudacos scooped the ‘Best female project’ award. Alexia, Claire Haskins, Matthew Dalton and Waheed were category winners and each won R1 000. Only 12 projects from the expo have been selected to represent the district at the International Science Fair in Boksburg later this year.
This is the first time that the school has 3 gr 12 pupils provisionally accepted into the Medical Faculty at Wits University. Congratulations to Ashlea Heaver, Shirish Sewpersad and Christian Beyra-Martinez for this amazing achievement. These three have consistently placed in the ‘Top Ten’ and have always taken academics very seriously.
