RA Engar springs into action

The theme ‘Today’s readers are tomorrow’s leaders’ encourages pupils to read more.

RA ENGAR pupils celebrated both Arbor and Readathon Weeks with a special function last Friday. Items presented included poetry dramatisation, speeches, songs and poster displays. Environmental health practitioner from Ugu District Municipality and guest speaker Vassie Manawer stressed the importance of caring for the environment and highlighted the need for water conservation. Pupils were encouraged to plant trees.

The second part of the special assembly focused on the theme ‘Today’s readers are tomorrow’s leaders’, which encourages pupils to read more. To further highlight the importance of reading, three pupils attended a reading festival held at the Uvongo Town Hall where Dr Gcina Mhlophe was the guest speaker.
