PORT Shepstone Primary’s gr 4 pupils visited Pure Venom in Izotsha and were amazed at the variety of snake species in SA. They then visited Beaver Creek to learn about coffee production. Gr 5 pupils were awed by the size of crocodiles at Riverbend Crocodile Farm and then toured a banana plantation to learn about banana production.
The school recently welcomed Taiwanese visitor Emma Lee Atkinson to the junior assembly. Mrs Atkinson shared much about life in the city of Taipei where she grew up and pupils were intrigued to hear that Taiwanese children nap during school.
Athletes performed very well at the interschool athletics meeting hosted by Margate and Port Edward Primary at Southcity last Saturday.
The school hosted the annual Mbango River Conservancy Spellathon last Thursday. Gr 7M pupil Safiyyah Motala won the senior phase section after competing against 10 local schools.
Term three exams commence tomorrow (September 16).
