Shaista flies the Jai Hind flag high

Parents are urged to diarise the annual general meeting (AGM) at the school on October 12 at 6pm.

JAI Hind Primary celebrated Arbor Day at a special assembly last Friday. Guest speaker Vassie Manawer addressed pupils about caring for their environment and highlighted the importance of conserving water, encouraging them to be water wise. Pupils made posters depicting the Arbor Week theme of ‘Forests and Water’, which were displayed throughout the school. A tree-planting ceremony was held after the special assembly. The school thanks Mrs Manawer for the trees that she generously donated to the school.

Shaista Sheik and Tamika Naidoo took part in the Umbango River Conservancy spellathon last Thursday, accompanied by teacher Jayshree Haripersadh. Ten schools took part and Shaista Sheik placed third in the gr 3 category. She was awarded a medal, a trophy and R100 in cash. Parents are urged to diarise the annual general meeting (AGM) at the school on October 12 at 6pm, where the proposed 2017 budget and financial statements will be presented.
