PORT Shepstone Junior Primary gr 3 pupils were overheard saying “Arrgh me mateys! I’ll get to the treasure first!” at last week’s fun treasure hunt.
They were tasked with deciphering a pirate map in an attempt to locate buried treasures. Squeals and shouts of delight were a definite indication that gold coins had been discovered and chocolate smudges on the ‘pirates’ faces were signs of sweet success.
2017 Grade reception pupils and their parents visited the school for Orientation Day. Guests were treated to a poem recital by current grade reception pupils and entertained by the school choir.
Principal Dell Pendock and teacher Rima Sookdhev welcomed and informed new parents on how best to prepare for pre-school. A tour of the school introduced parents to the well-resourced amenities and children were treated to a packet of crisps after a productive morning.
