PORT Shepstone High held its senior awards ceremony last Thursday evening amid much excitement. Teachers were seated on stage in full academic regalia.
The PSHS Ensemble delivered a memorable performance before principal Peter Jenkins addressed the gathering. Academic honours were awarded to seven matric pupils and Lente Venter walked away with the ‘dux of the school’ award.
Lente also scooped the Afrikaans first additional language, life orientation, life sciences, physical science, the Rochford Award for application in the sciences, mathematics and biology awards.
Sportswoman of the year went to Yande Bawana and sportsman of the year to Njabulo Cele. Liam Ogle was awarded the Clarke trophy for most improved senior drama pupil, as well as the Oscar Nero trophy for good fellowship. The evening closed with another impressive performance by the Ensemble.
