IZOTSHA Primary held another successful annual gr 7 ‘market day’ last Friday. Pupils came dressed in ‘civvies’ to enhance the market atmosphere. ‘Live’ adverts enacted in front of the school earlier in the week encouraged spending and the resulting profits were good.
A running, swimming and obstacle course fund-raiser was held last Friday afternoon and evening. Pupils from grades R to 7 raised an impressive amount of money towards paying for the new recently-installed cricket pitch and for water tanks which the school will be purchasing.
At the cricket matches against Suid-Natal Primêr, the U11A boys won by 6 wickets. The boys played exceptionally well with Zack Lawrence taking two wickets, Guy Henderson scoring 56 runs and Bruce Bormann displaying excellent fielding skills with an amazing one-handed catch that prevented a six. The U11B team lost by 97 runs. Nathan Polinski was voted ‘Man of the match’.
