WELL done to Hibberdene Academy’s gr1 and gr3 classes which attended a Bible Study Seniors group meeting at Leisuredene Village Hall last Friday.
They arrived armed with warm Christmas wishes and beautiful little lucky packets decorated with creative handmade cards for Bible study group members. Pupils sang Christmas carols, accompanied by their teachers, headmaster Brian Algie and gr 11 pupils Noulene van der Westhuizen and Damon Teles.
The gr 10 class led the assembly last Wednesday based on the theme ‘Faith’. Each class member presented a moving quotation around the theme and three prayers were recited in Afrikaans, English and isiZulu by Noulene, Muleki Luthuli and Caylene Hughes.
The reading taken from Hebrews was splendidly read by Khayelihle Nduli and the closing item was a beautiful, personal prayer especially written for the assembly by Caylene.
Exams are in full swing and gr 12 pupils are coping well with their papers. As part of the gr 11 fund-raising effort, the academy celebrated a belated Halloween Day last Friday and pupils had fun dressing up and buying tasty treats.
