MERLEWOOD Primary recently held a graduation ceremony for gr R pupils, who looked so smart in their gowns and entertained the audience with songs and dance routines. Gr 8 pupils attended a farewell function at Kapenta Bay Hotel and arrived in stylish outfits. They are wished the best of luck as they embark on the next phase of their school careers.
Awards day was held last week. Former Merlewood Primary pupil Stanley Smith, who is currently employed at President Jacob Zuma’s office, was invited as guest speaker. Minenhle Majola scooped the dux award as well as seven academic awards. Angelique Mthuli received the ambassador award and Sthabile Kheswa was nominated sportsperson of the year.
