Tamika takes the dux at Jai Hind

The school officially bade farewell to deputy principal Rosh Audan and teachers Rajan Mahabeer and Gythree Bridglall.

JAI HIND Primary held its annual awards day at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre last Friday. Academic achievers were rewarded with books, trophies and certificates.

Guest speaker and former pupil of Jai Hind, Thamini Sewbran, gave an inspirational talk and reminded pupils that they are the architects of their own destinies and have the power to charter their own way through life.

The school officially bade farewell to deputy principal Rosh Audan and teachers Rajan Mahabeer and Gythree Bridglall (gr R) at the event.

Tamika Naidoo scooped the dux award, the Dwarika award for academic excellence and the Gail Papli science award for the top science student.

Mahdiyya Vadwa received the good fellowship award, Teegan Badri took the sportsman of 2016 award and the Malcolm Moonsamy award for sporting excellence.

The sportswoman of 2016 award went to Babalwa Cele. Well done to Rosh Audan, Sushilla Kistamurthy and the awards committee for a successful function.
