Officers are on duty on the roads, beaches, shopping centres and in residential areas to make sure this festive season is as trouble-free as possible.

SOUTH Coast  police are out in full force, making sure they are visible  on the busy  roads, shopping malls and in residential areas.

While some are doing their last minute Christmas shopping, holidaymakers are still streaming to the coast for the festive celebrations.

Police officers are out and about, making sure that everyone is safe and that motorists behave.

” We have started an extensive operational programme, which includes  the SAPS mounted unit patrolling the beaches on horseback,” police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

Ugu SAPS Cluster commander, major general  Sethenye Nxamagele and her  officers  will be monitoring all operational activities in the cluster.

“Our wish is that everyone will enjoy a safe and joyous festive period and we will  therefore do everything in our power to make this a reality. Criminals must get a clear message that we are here to protect and serve our community and that South Coast police  will not tolerate them,” said Ms Nxamagele.
