Knitters celebrate 10th anniversary in Hibberdene

Donations of wool are welcome.

The Knits & Natters at Hibberdene Methodist Church recently celebrated 10 years of outreach ministry, representing millions of stitches knitted or crocheted for charity.

Members have produced nearly 5000 blankets, beanies, bed socks and jerseys for hospice and Genesis, among others, bringing warmth and comfort for those in need.

The group, which meets on Thursday mornings, has grown from four original members up to 18 people over the decade.

“There were days when we had mere centimetres of wool left, but God’s provision has never failed us,” said organiser Christine Snyman.

“We are so grateful to celebrate God’s gifts of creativity and fellowship each week as we make items for those who need it most.”

Donations of wool are welcome. Contact the church office on 039-699-2948.
