REMINDER: Ugu plans water shutdown
Please remember that certain areas will be without water for most of the day tomorrow.
UGU district municipality plans to shut down water supply tomorrow, St Valentines Day, Tuesday, February 14.
The partial shutdown will take place from 7am to 3pm.
Hibberdene to Ramsgate residents as well as Gamalakhe, Murchison, Bhobhoyi and the greater Nyandezulu areas will be affected.

According to a notice issued by municipal manager, DD Naidoo, the planned shutdown is due to the construction of the 27ML/d extension pipeline to the Bhobhoyi water treatment works, in preparation for the next peak season.

Other planned shutdown dates are as follows:
* Tuesday, February 21 from 6am to 6pm
* Tuesday, February 28 from 7am to 8am
Ugu has pleaded with its customers to store enough water as relief measures will not be available to cover all areas.
“Preference will be given to hospitals and schools,” reads the statement.
