Property owners urged to check valuation roll
Owners should lodge complaints if they feel the valuation is either too high or too low.

PROPERTY owners are urged to ensure that their property is valued correctly so that the rates and taxes they pay do not exceed what they should be paying.
The Ray Nkonyeni Municipality general Valuation Roll for the financial period July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2022 is now open for public examination, objections or appeals.
All property owners who wish to lodge an appeal against the valuation of their property can do so in writing.
The valuation roll is available at the Treasury Offices in Port Shepstone and at Hibberdene, Port Edward, Gamalakhe and Ezinqoleni libraries or at www.rnm.gov.za.
The period to lodge an appeal or a complaint ends on Friday, April 28 at 3pm.
Forms for lodging objections are obtainable at the Treasury Offices in Margate and Port Shepstone as well as Ezinqoleni municipal offices and at the municipal website.
Completed forms must be returned by registered mail to the following address:
The Municipal Manager, Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality, Valuation Roll, PO Box 5, Port Shepstone, 4240 or hand- delivered to the Treasury Offices in Margate or Port Shepstone.
They may also be handed in at Ezinqoleni Municipal Offices (on Tuesdays only).
