THE Hibberdene Academy’s head prefect inauguration ceremony took place last Friday morning.
Current matric pupils recited the leadership/prefect pledge to the headmaster, teachers, parents and pupils.
The inauguration started with a blessing and prayer by Hayford Tetteh and the ceremony proceeded with the presentation of special matric ties by headmaster Brian Algie.

Prefects were announced and finally the much-anticipated announcement that Damon Teles was selected as head boy and Nonkosi Cele as head girl, resulted in ecstatic cheering.
The academy congratulates Damon and Nonkosi on this prestigious accomplishment and wishes both of them, as well as prefects Cayleen Cassimjee, Noulene van der Westhuizen, Nqobile Mazeka, Precious Maluleka, Mbali Mchunu, Sifiso Mzimela, Ndalo Mhlongo and Phil Oosthuizen success for the year ahead.
