RNM youth manager called to account for office’s dismal performance

The office was labelled by some ‘as good as dead’.

RAY Nkonyeni Municipality is currently investigating its youth office which some have labelled ‘as good as dead’.

Manager Phumlani Mzobe was said to have been summoned by high ranking leaders of RNM last week to answer damning claims.

One politician indicated he had had enough of the bad reports and the manner in which Mr Mzobe conducted himself.

“Currently, the municipality is gathering all the reports concerning this office for a decision,” said a source.

This was, apparently, not the first time the office had been investigated.

Just few weeks ago it was reported that Mr Mzobe had featured prominently on social networks, with people complaining they needed help from his office, but were getting none.

Mr Mzobe was apparently seldom at his desk and those looking for help were turned away by the security guard.

Municipal spokesman Simon April confirmed that an investigation was taking place, but would not give any further details as it was ‘an employee-employer matter’.

However, he did say the municipality was ‘concerned about the needs of the youth’.
