WATCH: Shelly Beach protest proceeds peacefully as people from all walks of life stand together

No incidents have been reported, and Marine Drive and most shops are open for business as usual.

SOME 300 people of all ages, races and genders gathered in Marine Drive, Shelly Beach this morning to join in the country-wide call to protest the axing of Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan and the growing corruption in the country.

Protestors lined both sides of Marine Drive, waving placards calling for President Jacob Zuma to resign, blowing whistles and encouraging passing motorists to hoot.

No incidents have been reported, and both Marine Drive and most shops in the area are open for business as usual.
