Pupil found with gun, ammo at school near Port Shepstone
The teen had apparently taken the weapon from his uncle’s safe after finding the key.
A PUPIL from a local high school was found on the school premises last Thursday with a firearm and ammunition in his possession.
According to police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid, Captain Gert Bosman from the Ugu cluster office was called to a school in the Port Shepstone area.

“There, a 14-year-old pupil was found with a CZ 7.65 mm pistol, a magazine and seven rounds of ammunition,” she said.
The teen had apparently taken the gun from his uncle’s uncle’s safe after finding the key. He has been left in the care of his parents in Mthatha.
Police have not released the name of the school, pending further investigation and intervention by a probation officer.
Anyone with information on unlicensed firearms is urged to contact their nearest police station.
