Criminals tie up one woman, stuff newspaper in her mouth and threaten another with a gun
Police have cautioned residents of the South Coast to be on the lookout for unfamiliar loiterers.
SOUTH Coast residents, women in particular, are urged to be alert and cautious when they are alone at home, even during the day.
A woman (35), who was visiting family in Ocean View Drive, Southport, was attacked on Tuesday this week at 2.40pm.
At the time she had been alone with a child (4) and had been hanging up washing.
When she went back inside the house, she was attacked by a man who pushed her to the floor and punched her in the face.
Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said a second person came into the house and demanded cash.
They tied her hands and forced newspaper in her mouth, threatening her with a knife.
The men fled, taking cash. A house robbery case was opened at Southport SAPS.
