Port Shepstone Lions rally South Coasters to help Knysna fire victims

The South Coast community is called upon to help those affected by the fires in Knysna.

PORT Shepstone Lions have set up two drop-off points whereby the community can assist the homeless people caught in the devastating fires that are currently ravaging the Southern Cape, particularly the Knysna area.

The two points are:

  • Party Costume Hire at JTV Centre in Umtentweni. Contact: Jenny Vogt or Bella Gallagher at 078 538 9913.
  • C-Side Gas in Manaba Beach. Contact: Jeff Smith or Desiree Du Toit.

Lions clubs from all around the country are rallying to provide support to the tens of thousands who have been affected by this tragedy.

These items will be transported to a central distribution point in Durban and transported from there to the Knysna area. One hundred percent of all donations will go towards those affected.

According to the Port Shepstone Lion’s Facebook page, Lion colleagues in the Southern Cape are in the process of applying for a US$10 000-00 emergency relief grant from Lions Clubs International however, this will still not be sufficient to assist those affected.
